Jennifer P. Killen

Jennifer P. Killen, a Florida native, grew up in South Florida. She moved to Gainesville to attend college and received her B.S. in Telecommunication Operations, with honors, from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications in 1999. She received her J.D. from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in 2002, with honors, and served as the Articles Editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy.

Ms. Killen is a Board Certified Workers’ Compensation attorney and is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest level of professional excellence awarded.  She is a skilled litigator who has tried cases throughout the State of Florida. Her clients consist of employers, servicing agents, carriers and injured workers. Ms. Killen also has extensive experience speaking at conferences and seminars on a wide range of workers’ compensation topics. She is an accredited certified instructor and lecturer for continuing education courses.

Prior to joining Payas, Payas & Payas, Ms. Killen was a partner at a statewide workers compensation defense firm. In addition to successfully handling complex workers’ compensation matters through appeal, she has also handled liability, construction law and PIP cases, making her a well-rounded litigator and advocate for her clients regardless of the industry in which they are involved.

In her free time, Ms. Killen enjoys spending time with her dogs and watching Gator football. She also serves as the President of the Central Florida Chapter of Women for Winesense, a charitable organization dedicated to providing educational and relationship building opportunities for wine industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.
